73. Transformation

Artist: Denise Sammons

Benefactor: Sponsor Name
Location: TBD

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come." -2 Corinthians 5:17

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind..." -Romans 12:2

"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!"--John 8:36

There is something miraculous and awe-inducing to witness the transformation of a lowly earth-bound caterpillar through a stage of imprisonment in the chrysalis, then ultimately into a beautiful monarch butterfly, free to fly skyward...

The chains of sin, shame and selfishness shackle us to our past victimization, poor choices and habitual error. Try as we may, we cannot break free by our own willpower, wealth or wishful thinking. Only Jesus' death on the cross and our realization that we need His salvation can truly, totally and permanently transform our lives.  Only Jesus can release us to stretch our wings and soar into a new life of freedom, service and surrender.

For 50 years, Campus Life has been offering Jesus' free gift of salvation to middle- and high school students, teens facing unplanned pregnancies and incarcerated youth in the juvenile justice system. Their boots-on-the-ground service in face to face ministries not only brings this message, but also tangibly demonstrates God's love by developing meaningful relationships.

Studies show that youth are hungry for positive, real relationships that go deeper than texts and social media. Campus Life offers friendship, mentoring and advocacy through the fun, the struggles and the heartaches that are inevitable for today's adolescent. This has the power to transform lives, and the ripple effect will be there for eternity to witness.

Artist's note: This variation focuses on the beauty of God's created example of transformation and the loveliness of this natural and free-flowing process.
