37. Time, Talent, Treasure

Five years ago, I attended an art class at a local church and started creating artwork centered around hands. Hands are so expressive! Some of my earliest memories include holding and touching family members’ hands. In addition to drawing, painting and sculpting hands, I have also learned more about stewardship and serving.
When the Serving Hands Project was revealed to the public, I became excited about the subject matter and concept and knew that I was being pulled to participate. The pocket watch, paintbrush and money resting in the palms of the hands represent ways we can serve our community: Time, Talent and Treasure.
I envision that the additional sculptural pieces (paintbrush and money) will need to be constructed of fiberglass like the hands. I hope to add or create a larger than life pocket watch that keeps time with a chain that hangs from the paintbrush.
